Who are we?

WRAP is a global environmental action NGO, and our core purpose is to help tackle climate change. We want to protect our planet by transforming our product and food systems to create circular living. We don’t believe that our natural resources should be wasted, everything we use should be re-used and recycled.

If you join us at WRAP – and we think you should – you'll drive important change and help transform our throwaway economy into one where we eliminate waste, circulate resources, and adopt nature-positive, low carbon, and resource-efficient systems.

We want to power circular living in every boardroom and every home, and you can help us achieve this.

The role

We’re entering an exciting new phase at WRAP as we look to further grow the impact of our work on food waste both in the UK and globally. As a Senior Specialist for Food Waste, you will be a leader in our global Food Waste team, leading work on UK and global projects to drive change and reduce food waste across the food system. You will work directly with the global Food Waste Programme Lead to develop innovative and successful strategies that deliver food waste reductions in the food system, working directly with business, governments and other key stakeholders.

Who are we looking for?

This is an exciting role and we’re looking for a go-getter who brings significant relevant technical sustainability knowledge, ideally combined with leadership experience in business, consulting or with similar NGOs. Essential experience includes:

  • Technical leadership on food sustainability topics, especially the drivers and impacts of food waste.
  • Expert knowledge of the food supply chain developed through a combination of education and relevant industry/sector work experience or significant experience in the sector developed through working at industry or/and consultancy.
  • Demonstrable experience driving change in the food industry working at a senior level with retailers, manufacturers and policy makers.
  • Good engagement and collaboration skills, evidencing experience working with external stakeholders including businesses and other partners including NGOs and trade associations.
  • Experience in line management and managing project teams across multiple projects.
  • A proven track record in leading successful business development and funding opportunities.
  • A proven track record of delivering multiple projects on time and on budget.

WRAP is a climate action NGO working around the globe to tackle the causes of the climate crisis and give the planet a sustainable future. Our vision is a thriving world in which climate change is no longer a problem.

At WRAP we believe that our natural resources shouldn’t be wasted. And that everything we use should be re-used and recycled. Our mission is to make the world a more sustainable place. We bring people together, we act on the facts, and we drive change.

Our core purpose is to help tackle climate change and protect our planet by changing the way things are produced, consumed and disposed of.

If you join us at WRAP – and we think you should – you'll help us by tackling sustainable product design, reducing waste, encouraging re-use or advocating recycling across the food and drink, plastic packaging, clothing and textiles and the collections and recycling sectors.

You can help us all to do better.

Our people are what make WRAP unique. If you think you have what it takes, but your experience looks different to what is advertised, please still apply.

We want to help you be your best, so please contact us if you require any assistance or adjustments during the recruitment process.
